Setting a Configurable Present Time For Wallets as Used by beVWARS (Doc ID 1443409.1)

Last updated on MARCH 27, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control - Version 4.4.1 and later
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)

Purpose

This document provides information on a new feature of the Oracle Communication Network Charging and Control (OCNCC or NCC) 4.4.1.0.0 product that allows the Voucher Wallet Server's (VWS) beVWARS to run a different time than the Operating System (OS) time.

Scope

A good understanding of the NCC product architecture and administration is necessary.

Warning

This feature is a testing feature designed for functional tests only and is not appropriate for neither:

  • Performance Tests
  • Production Systems

It should be entirely deactivated (useTimeFromConfigFile = false) in any of these two situations.

This feature allows the application to read a configuration file on disk for every call to detect time mapping changes and apply them. This allows the time applied to wallets to be changed on the fly without an application restart or even the rest of the configuration to be reloaded with a process signal.
