Memory Usage Of Server Process raises When Using eci_upd_ent

(Doc ID 1445503.1)

Last updated on JULY 01, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Agile Engineering Data Management - Version 6.1.1.0 and later
Microsoft Windows (32-bit)
Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit)

Symptoms

On Oracle Agile EDM 6.1.1 with the Java Client and eci_test tool
Find that if the function eci_upd_ent is used several times the memory usage of the axalant.exe process on the application server increases more and more and does not go down any more.
This is problematical for the plot server processes that execute that function on every run to update the status of the plot queue records.

Expected Behavior:
--------------------
The call of function eci_upd_ent should not add up memory on the axalant.exe server process.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
-------------------------------------------------------------
1. Start a Java Client
2. Check memory usage of appropriate axalant.exe server process
3. Connect with eci_test to the running Java Client like
eci_test 1 localhost 44444 < eci_upd_ent420.txt
With eci_upd_ent420.txt containing 420 times following lines:
eci_upd_ent
EDB-ARTICLE
EDB-ART-SLI
off
list
bat
off
T_MASTER_DAT.C_ID

1257401340

T_MASTER_DAT.PART_NAME

TEST-ASM

T_MASTER_DAT.PART_NAME

4. Check appropriate axalant.exe again: The memory usage has increased a lot and does not go down any more.
