Picking the Correct Virtual Warehouse for Inventory Movements (Doc ID 1452663.1)

How do the Retail applications pick the correct Virtual Warehouse (VWH) for inventory movements, in cases where there are multiple virtual warehouses under a single physical warehouse?

Consider the following scenario:

There is no way to identify the correct Virtual Warehouse (VWH) in the ASNOut message coming from a non-Oracle external system. The shipment and 'EG' transfer created in RMS may not be created on the correct VWH since only the Physical Warehouse is contained in the ASNOut message.  This is a problem for Distribution Centers (DC) that know their sections in the DC.  The RMS on hand inventory in the virtual warehouses will get out of sync against the inventory on the DC sections.

This is also the same case with the RIB Receipt, RTV and Inventory Adjustment interface.

i.e. If there are multiple VWH (VWH1, VWH2, VWH3) on a physical warehouse (PWH) in which the Distribution Center (DC) creates shipments to another DC, sourcing the items from DC section1 to another, the ASNOut message inbound to RMS can only contain the Physical Warehouse.  In this case, RMS will create the shipment and the external generated transfer to the PWH, while sourcing the stock across the different Virtual Warehouses in RMS -- and not sourcing to the correct VWH, since there is no way for RMS to know the correct VWH.
