Compiler Warning - Illegal Use Of -xarch Option With Sun Studio 12 (Doc ID 1454191.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 23, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version 7.3.1.0.0 and later
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
Checked for relevance on 27-Nov-2017.

Goal

Installed Sun Studio 12 for BRM 7.3.1.

When trying to compile modules, we get the following warning:
cc -c -g -xcg92 -DFLIST_HEAP -I/export/home/actbrm/brm_7_3_1/opt/infranet_custom/include -I/export/home/actbrm/brm_7_3_1/opt/include fm_webservice_pol_act_config.c
cc: Warning: illegal use of -xarch option, illegal value ignored: v8

The hardware platform for Solaris 10 is: sparcv9 sparc - 64 Bit

While browsing the Sun studio document, we could see that v8 value is not supported for 64bit SPARC platform.
Please confirm if this is the issue and in that case which flag needs to be used and in which file it needs to be added.
