How to Summarize Threads In Imapd Processes (Doc ID 1457012.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 20, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Messaging Server - Version 5.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When diagnosing performance problems with Messaging Server, we often have a large set of pstack outputs collected by dbhang.

There can be up to service.imap.numprocesses imapd processes, with a separate pstack output for each process, with up to service.imap.maxthreads LWPs in each. It is very difficult to browse through so many threads in multiple files to determine whether there are any trends.
