EAN-128 Bar Code is Not Being Recognized During Receiving in RWMS (Doc ID 1460800.1)

Symptoms

In Oracle Retail Warehouse Management System (RWMS), when EAN-128 code has an invisible character embedded as FNC1 character, scanning the bar code of such EAN-128 code during receiving does not populate data correctly.


Steps to Recreate:


1. Have system control parameter (SCP) parameter for FNC1_ASCII defined as CHR(29) which is invisible, utilizing below code
2. Have an item with universal product code or global trade item number (UPC) say '27591062011341' with EAN-128 enabled for application identifier (AI) codes 01 (UPC), 17 (Expiration Date) and 10 (Lot or Batch Number).
3. During receiving, scan bar code of EAN-128 code that includes lot number at the end of the label (say the content of the bar code is 0127591062011341172908131011772A303)
4. Notice that LOT_NBR is populated as '11772A303' and not '11772A'.
