Split Charging Does Not Work In Case Of Custom Multi RUM (Doc ID 1462029.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 20, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version 7.4.0.0.0 to 7.4.0.0.0 [Release 7.4.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

In BRM 74, with PS13 following scenario is executed to achieve split charging while using custom Multi RUM. However, it is not working as expected. See below :

Scenario :

1. Create a product with MutiRum (custom rums) using following two rums in the product :

Duration60 -- /event/session/telco : Duration60: (PIN_FLD_END_T - PIN_FLD_START_T)/60 : second
Duration30 -- /event/session/telco : Duration30: (PIN_FLD_END_T - PIN_FLD_START_T)/30 : second

2. Charge configuration for this product is as below:

Duration 30 -- Valid from 7 PM to 7 AM -- Charge 80 /pulse
Duration 60 -- Valid from 7 AM to 7 PM -- Charge 30 /pulse
Time of the day mode is "Timed" for all rums

3. Attach this product to a customer.

4. Simulate an Authorization call at 6:56:03 AM for 360 Seconds, so that the call RUM switching happens i.e., Duration30 is applicable from 6:56:03 AM to 7:00:00 AM and Duration60 from 7:00:00 AM to 7:02:03 AM.

Expected Result :

Call charge splitting should happen and Call should be fully rated. Charge applied should be (8*80 + 3*30 = 730), split across the tiers and charged using respective RUMs

Actual Result :

Call is getting charged from 6:56:03 AM to 7:00:00 AM only. As Exploded time is 6:56:03 AM so Duration60 is not getting picked up for rating
