When you are recovering from Analtyics not having run for some time, it is helpful to know how the analtyics process works and which directories perform which functions.
There are questions that come up when Analytics ETL processes has not been running smoothly.
- When scheduled search Analytics is run, which (few) logs have already been processed?
- Is it safe to manually process *all* runtime logs?
- Will this cause problems in analytics if any of the logs have been processed already?
- The Indexer's location \instances\<indexer>\content\data\analytics\logs, prior to copying the log files here, nothing was already present. Is this normal?
