The Lightning client hangs when trying to sync with a user's calendar. We encountered a scenario where a Lightning user caused excessive logging (filled up 10GB logs in a day). Calendar Server logs fill up with the message repeatedly shown below, for the same user:
Lightning tries to sync to a principle or home URI instead of a calendar collection.
