MRPFSDMS FRM-40212: Invalid Value PROJECT_NUMBER' When Typing A Project Number In MPS Entries Form (Doc ID 1475442.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 19, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Materials Requirement Planning - Version 12.0.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

In 12.0.6 and 12.1 User Interface in all instances:

Users upgraded from 11.5.10 to either 12.0.6 or 12.1.X. This problem did not occur in 11.5.10 but occurs in R12. This problem is specific to Project/Project Manufacturing Environment. Users navigate to the MPS entries form and are manually inputting entries. However when typing in partial Project Name or using Copy/Past in the Project Number field, the following error occurs:

FRM-40212: Invalid value PROJECT_NUMBER

If the users invoke the list of values and choose the Project number, it works fine. It also seems to work if you manually input the project id in this field.

Steps to reproduce:

Use Project Manufacturing Super User
 1. Material Planner/MPS/Entries
 2. Select Org = P1
 3. Select the MPS Name = P1-MPS
 4. Input Item = JMKTEST - future date - qty = 1
 5. Now in the LOV for Project Number you will find Pacific Pumps. If you
type this in completely or copy/paste completely you get the error message.
If you select from the LOV it works
 6. Now here's what's stranger, if you input the project id = 5100 it
immediately hits the LOV and shows Pacific Pumps and you can move on
Customers using this have issues using the LOV as it takes them longer if
they have a lot of inputs to make. How is this resolved?
