Calendar 7: Allowing Members Of A Migrated LDAP Group To Subscribe To Calendars (Doc ID 1483916.1)

Last updated on APRIL 22, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Calendar Server - Version 7.1 and later
Oracle Communications Convergence - Version 2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Together, Calendar Server 7 supports the use of calendar permissions and LDAP Groups.

For example: You should be able to create a calendar permission that grants "w" access, and include an LDAP group.  The members of the group should be able to subscribe to the calendar.

The Calendar permissions parse the groups as an LDAP group and as a Calendar group.

However, we have seen examples from customers where this does not appear to work with existing groups.

As a test, I granted the LDAP group 'sample' with 'w' privileges to my own calendar, userA.  User1, who is a member of the group, cannot subscribe to the calendar userA.  The LDAP entry of the group* and the ACL setting are as follows:

User1 is unable to subscribe to the userA@example.com calendar.
