NEP is unable To Reconnect To External System - Bad version number in .class file (Doc ID 1485312.1)

Symptoms

NEP was unable to connect to External System.

Incoming orders keep stockpiling inside NEP. NE status is 'Connecting' even after ASAP and WebLogic server have been restarted for few times.
Telnet to the external system showing that it is able to be connected.

In the ASAP.Console file, found following error messages:

Exception in thread "Connection handler hpraspapp-sgvip-56206" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: Bad version number in .class file
at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java:620)
at java.security.SecureClassLoader.defineClass(SecureClassLoader.java:124)
at java.net.URLClassLoader.defineClass(URLClassLoader.java:260)
at java.net.URLClassLoader.access$100
