Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version 7.3.1.0.0 to 7.3.1.0.0 [Release 7.3.1]
HP-UX Itanium (32-bit)
HP-UX Itanium
Checked for relevance on 27-May-2014

Goal

It is recommended in BRM documentation that array buffer should be used in HP-UX Itanium as this type of buffer addresses performance and scalability. We have used array buffer in all the buffer section (Buffer, InputBuffer, or OutputBuffer). However, we have not seen any improvement in pipeline performance.

Clarifications required:

Q1. Are there any other considerations while using array type buffer?

Q2. When we use array type buffer, should we use same type in all the sections or can we mix array type and Rogue Wave buffer?

Q3. Can you please explain SpinCount and YieldCount used for array type buffer? Does high value of SpinCount and YieldCount affect performance? What should be the starting value for these two parameters?
