CompareSource value of Import Scan triggered Discrepancy Does not return INVENTORY (Doc ID 1486862.1)

Goal

According to the Oracle Communications Network Integrity Developer's Guide, a Discrepancy triggered from an Import scan should return a value of "INVENTORY" for the CompareSource.  This value is needed to make intelligent decisions regarding the resolution of the discrepancy.   However, all discrepancies, whether triggered from Discovery or Import, always return "NETWORK".  This is an error.  

This article addresses the following question,

Is there an alternate method of attaining the true CompareSource of the discrepancy?
