Oracle ATG Web Commerce Search - Version 2007.1 to 2007.4 [Release 2007]

Search engines becomes unavailable and not getting any search results.
Looking at /atg/search/routing/SearchEngineService, all the answer search engines reach the default max failure count of 5 but atgsearch processes are still running.
The following merge failure is also occurring.
Windows security patches were applied.
