Outlook Connector - Error 5118 On Install/upgrade (Doc ID 1501085.1)

We have the following environment:

Windows 7 w/ service pack 7
Outlook 2007 32-bit v12.0.6607.1000

Outlook Connector 7.3 with patch 139162-14.

When attempting to install/upgrade to OC 7.3  patch 15, the installer fails with the following error:  



This occurs on every upgrade attempt from patch 14 to patch 15.

We were able to get around the issue by selecting "create a new profile" instead of using the existing profile. But, our intention is not to create a new profile; it is to update the existing profile, if one exists. We do not want users to have to create a new profile and have to reset all of their settings/preferences again.

Is there any alternative to this?
