Same Transaction Sent from ORPOS Is Processed Multiple Times by SIM (Doc ID 1506801.1)

Symptoms

The same transaction from Oracle Retail Point of Service (ORPOS) is processed twice in Store Inventory Management (SIM). The expectation is to have a validation on the transaction ID before SIM processes the transactions.


Steps to Reproduce:


  1. In ORPOS, make a sale/return transaction.  This will be sent to SIM.
  2. Due to a network delay, the response from SIM does not get to ORPOS and a timeout error is returned.
  3. ORPOS again sends the same transaction to SIM.
  4. Second transaction is processed from the Staged_Message table in SIM.
