IMPORTANT NOTE: Several issue have been discovered for this functionality in different phases of the update and release steps. The Solution below will guide to other notes and patches that are required to resolve all known issues.
We have many make items that have a primary routing and an alternate routing.
In order to level load our master schedule, we attempt to Release some of these planned orders attached to the alternate routing.
We do this by Selecting the planned order in the supply window, clicking the For Release checkbox, and selecting the alternate routing in the Implement Alternate Routing field in the Release Properties tab.
We save the record. We now have a planned order marked For Release identified to implement with the Alternate Routing.
After we release, the work order is created with the primary routing, not the alternate routing.
WIP Mass Load may error and output file shows error as follows
-- This happens in a constrained plan when the ALT BOM component and routing details are sent to WIP_JOB_DTLS_INTERFACE table
