ISS Not Responding / GlassFish Server Hung

Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 8.2 (build b06-fcs)
ISS 1u4 patch 13 (v1u4-13.8300)
The Application Server was not accepting connections. Netstat showed that the port was in LISTEN state but attempting to connect over telnet would time out on the local server. A user has filed a complaint that s/he was unable to search for messages in their INBOX. A restart of the App Server was performed and the issue has resolved itself.
