Change of Recurrent Event is Not Persistent in OC (Doc ID 1511416.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 14, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Connector for Microsoft Outlook - Version 7.3 and later
Oracle Communications Calendar Server - Version 6.3 (JCS 6) and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When changing a single event of a series, it "jumps" back to its original position after waiting the time for automatic sync or pressing the F9 key.
An "Empty and Resync" does not help.  Even changing the event once again, it will appear in its original place when OC is syncing again.  The steps used to duplicate this behavior are as follows:

 Login into Outlook

  - Right-Click in calendar
  - Select New
  - Enter Subject "event series1", Location "here", time 17:00 - 18:00
  - Open recurrency, enter daily, begin 20120702, end after 10 events
  - Click OK
  - Click Save [26/Jun/2012:13:13:14 +0200]

  - Move event of 20120705 to another time: e.g. 18:00 - 19:00
  - Wait sync time (e.g. 5 min)
  Observation:
Outlook: changed event "jumps" back to the former stored time (17:00 - 18:00)
UWC: changed event is in the right place

  - Move last event in series (2012-07-11) to the next day (2012-07-12) by drag and drop
  - See Information message:
"You only changed the date of this event. you have to open the whole series to change it for all events. Do you want to change the date only for this event?"
  - Click "No"
  Observation: Event was not changed

  - Move last event in series (2012-07-11) to the next day (2012-07-12) by drag and drop
  - See Information message:
"You only changed the date of this event. you have to open the whole series to change it for all events. Do you want to change the date only for this event?"
  - Click "Yes"
Observation: Event appears in the new place (2012-07-12)

  - Wait sync time (e.g. 5 min)
  Observation:
Outlook: changed event "jumps" back to the former stored date (2012-07-11)
UWC: changed event is in the right place (2012-07-12)

  - Open calendar properties (right-click in calendars list -> Properties)
  - Open Advanced (or similar), click "Empty and Resync"
Observation: changed events are still on the wrong place

  - Move event of 20120705 again to another time: e.g. 19:00 - 20:00
  - Wait sync time (e.g. 5 min or press F9)
  Observation:
Outlook: changed event "jumps" back to the former stored time (17:00 -  18:00)
UWC: changed event is in the right place (19:00 - 20:00)
