No Direct Delivery To Folder When Message Goes Thru Hold State
(Doc ID 1511432.1)
Last updated on OCTOBER 10, 2022
Applies to:
Oracle Communications Messaging Server - Version 7.0.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
We have setup a folder in such a way direct delivery to the folder is allowed for anyone, by doing :
a. log in to Convergence
b. right click folder, option : share folder
c. tick in box of : 'Allow direct delivery to this folder
This results in the following ACL on this folder
When the user is active, all goes well. Any mail sent to <uid owner>+<subfolder>@example.com is getting delivered to the sub folder of this user.
However, when this user's status was put on hold, after releasing the HELD message, direct message delivery is not happening. The mail is delivered to the user's INBOX.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- Allow direct delivery into a certain messaging folder ( see above)
- Put the user on hold in ldap -> mailuserstatus: hold
- Send mail to this user, which will make it go to hold
- Change mailuserstatus from 'hold' back to 'active'
- Release the mail in hold with :
- imsimta qm
- dir -held
- release 1
- Check the user's mail box
=> mail went to INBOX
This is a problem because we intend to share this mail folder to other users.
Due to this issue, when a mailbox is being moved to another server, mail delivered directly to shared folder is not visible.
This means : the mail needs to be tracked by owner or mail administrator and redelivered to correct folder (manual processing)
