We are pleased to announce the availability of release 2.0 of the Oracle Communications Service Availability Machine (OCSAM), an optimized hardware and software solution that enables network equipment providers (NEPs) to quickly deliver “zero downtime” applications – such as IPTV, Policy Control, Charging, and others - to communications service providers (CSPs), accelerate time to revenue, and reduce project risk and cost.
While the Oracle Communications Service Availability (OCSA) software – enabling seven 9s service availability with stateful application fail-over and session integrity - remains at the heart of OCSAM, release 2.0 introduces the following new features:
- Support for Oracle VM, allowing applications requiring service availability to be deployed in a virtualized environment
- Tighter integration of the service availability software with the Netra 6000 hardware for advanced hardware fault detection and isolation
- Integration of Oracle Clusterware for enterprise-grade clustering with the OCSA carrier-grade service availability software
- Support for Java based applications
The introduction of these new features further enhances the zero downtime user experience of OCSAM by increasing the number of application deployment options and use cases for customers, while reducing total cost of ownership through improved platform elasticity and resource utilization.
