Stored Fails To Recover From Snapshot After "Invalid Log Record Header"

Symptoms

Messaging Server will does not start up. There is a core file from stored. The following is recorded in the default log file:

[23/Dec/2012:01:39:24 -0800] abc stored[6303]: Store Warning: stored: Oracle Communications Messaging Server STORE 7u4-24.01(7.0.4.24.0) 64bit (built Nov 17 2011) starting up
[23/Dec/2012:01:39:24 -0800] abc stored[6303]: Store Critical: Mailbox database error: DB_LOGC->get: LSN 443252/10483758: invalid log record header
[23/Dec/2012:01:39:24 -0800] abc stored[6303]: Store Critical: Mailbox database error: PANIC: I/O error
[23/Dec/2012:01:39:24 -0800] abc stored[6303]: Store Critical: Mailbox database panic (err 5). Please stop all message store processes and restart the store daemon to recover the mboxlist database. Review the store daemon startup message in the default log file and follow the instructions in the log file to perform additional recovery steps if required

Changes

The Messaging Server system was hung such that the administrator could not ping the system nor get any response from the console. The system was restarted.

Note: this is probably a hardware or OS/kernel problem. Before taking any action, you should open an SR using your hardware/system CSI and gather any information requested by the hardware/OS/kernel team.
