Last updated on OCTOBER 25, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control - Version 2.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The ACS User Guide states:
"Editing a Geography Set or entry will cause all compiled Control Plans that use that Geography Set to be recompiled".

The ACS Feature Node User Guide states that at least 3 feature nodes (Time Of Day, Day of Week, Day of Year) will make use of TIME_ZONE_GEOGRAPHY_SET if Explicit Unix TZ is choosen as time zone type (tzType).

Choosing TZ of Service Number, TZ of Logical CLI, TZ of Network CLI as as time zone type will also have same effect.

A control plan can be created or existing and contain DOW, DOY, and TOD feature nodes with all above possibility of time zone type (tzType).

If one updates the TIME_ZONE_GEOGRAPHY_SET geography-set, it can be noticed that none of these control plans are recompiled.

This article will describe brierfly the underlying reason for this.
