Symptoms
What is Diameter Service Price Enquiry:
Diameter credit control operation in which credit control client retrieves cost of a service from Credit control server. The credit-control client may need to know the price of the service event. Services offered by application service providers whose prices are not known in the credit-control client might exist. The end user might also want to get an estimation of the price of a service event before requesting it.
A Diameter credit-control client requesting the cost information MUST set the CC-Request-Type Attribute Value Pair (AVP) equal to EVENT_REQUEST (4), include the Requested-Action AVP set to PRICE_ENQUIRY(3). The credit-control server calculates the cost of the requested service event, but it does not perform any account balance check or credit-reservation from the account. The cost of the requested service event is returned to the credit-control client in the Cost-Information AVP in the Credit- Control-Answer message.
For more information kindly refer to Section 6.1 of RFC 4006:Diameter Credit-Control Application.
In context of Network Charging and Control (NCC) system, Credit control client sends Price Enquiry Request to Diameter Control Agent (DCA) server on NCC.
DCA retrieves cost information from NCC system and sends cost to client in Cost-Information AVP as per below call flow.
Call flow is following.
For more information, please see Diameter Control Agent Technical Guide.
Price Enquiry operation gives below error in /IN/service_packages/DCA/tmp/diameterControlAgent.log.
As per call flow cost information appears as outbound extension digits in Connect message. Error indicates that cost information is not available in Connect message received from slee_acs.
