Unable To Configure CCG Agent In E-Business RAC (Real Application Clusters) Environment, ERROR ORA-02083: database name has illegal character '-' (Doc ID 1524775.1)

Symptoms

On : 5.5.1 version, Install, Migration, Upgrade

When attempting to save EBS database parameters on Agent configuration page for RAC database XYLDEV
the following error occurs.

ERROR

java.sql.SQLException: ORA-02083: database name has illegal character '-'


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. CCG > ERP workbench > edit agent > save > enter passwords.
2. View am.log file
 

Note : Host and port names are examples only, your values will be somewhat different.

3. am.log file contains :

#9:36:00 - After validateDBLink
#9:36:00 - lstrServiceName :: XYLDEV
#9:36:01 - After validateERPName
#9:36:01 - After validateValidateDelimiter
#9:36:01 - java.sql.SQLException: ORA-02083: database name has illegal character '-'

4. Relevant values on the am agent configuration screen has :

- Database Host: xyldb01-vip.dibos02.di-cloud.com
- Database Port: 1524
- Database SID: XYLDEV1
