Purpose

Oracle Pedigree and Serialization Manager (OPSM) provides a transaction web service to communicate with external systems. The input format is an XML document with specific data elements that OPSM requires to validate and record those transactions. However, in some cases, supply chain partners may wish to provide an EDI transmission in lieu of the standard XML format. Since OPSM was built using Oracle Fusion Middleware, you can leverage the EDI add-on available for Oracle B2B and the SOA Suite to receive and transform these types of transmissions. Leveraging this existing capability provides a proven methodology for transforming standard EDI formats into the required OPSM XML input.
