Details

Oracle Communications Global Business Unit (CGBU) is announcing the release of Oracle Communications Policy Controller (OCPC) 6.1.

  • Increased integration capabilities with support for the Sp and Sy interfaces over Diameter for external telecom systems and a SOAP interface for external web services systems facilitating the integration with third party non-Oracle systems. The Sp interface allows integration with external Subscription Profile Repositories and the recently standardized (3GPP Release 11) Sy interface allows third party Online Charging Systems to provide event information, such as an account recharge, to dynamically influence the policy applied to the active session.
  • Tight integration with the Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management (OCBRM) charging system through a shared Subscription Profile Repository (SPR) housed within OCBRM, minimizing OPEX by providing a single profile repository and allowing policy rules to be easily constructed around the charging platform’s rich set of charging and subscription information. According to Infonetics, 100% of the CSPs surveyed indicated they plan to integrate policy and charging as they move toward value-based pricing.
