Does Section 3.1.6 of the AMF Spec Negate SaAmfSutProvidesSvcTypes? (Doc ID 1530643.1)

Last updated on MARCH 04, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications OpenSAFfire - Version 6.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Consider a situation with on Service Group(SG) with two Service Units(SU) and two Service Instances(SI).   Both SUs and SIs have their own unique types.   Both SIs have the same SG for the saAmfSIProtectedbySG attribute.  SaAmfSutProvidesSvcTypes for SU1 only has SI1 and saAmfSutProvidesSvcTypes for SU2 only has SI2.

In 3.1.6 of the AMF spec, it reads, "A service group (SG) is a logical entity that groups one or more service units in order to provide service availability for a particular set of service instances. Any service unit of the service group must be able to take an assignment for any service instance of this set."

From this, it sounds like if there are two SUs and two SIs within the same SG, then both SIs can be assigned to both SUs. This would mean saAmfSutProvidesSvcTypes is ignored. Is that correct?
