Enhance user experience and facilitate visualizing equipment in the MSS Inventory screens.
Goal
ENHANCEMENT REQUEST
MSS should allow users to color code installed equipment in the Equipment Inventory module.
Color coding equipments would help a broad band of users in MetaSolv to quickly navigate and facilitate the day to day activities
JUSTIFICATION
Currently, MetaSolv does not provide a quick identifier to differentiate from one equipment vs. another and the user need to read its specs as displayed, and sometimes
manually open the desired equipment to identify if it is a specific type or any other category of equipment.
This consumes lots of time for the business users, and a identifier in the form of color codes would aid in reducing time associated with searching the respective equipment.
Color coding makes it a much faster operation than to read equipment specs as is currently done.
■ Users had tried to change the display of Preferences for equipment parameters, but reading thru the information in the Equipment Inventory is slow and cumbersome.
■ Also they tried to use the Find equipment feature but found it is useful only for small installations, and, it is still slower than color coding.
