Applies to:

Oracle Solaris on x86-64 (64-bit)
Linux x86-64
Oracle Knowledge on Oracle WebLogic Server Only
Symptoms and Cause Apply to Any Supported Platform
Solution Applies to Unix-Like platforms Only

When an Oracle Knowledge application (Information Manager, Analytics, Intelligent Search, etc) is started up through the Oracle WebLogic Server Administration Console or by using the "startManagedWeblogic" script located in the application's instance folder, the application log file is not rotated as it would if the application was started through the ICE prompt.

Note: Oracle Knowledge has a instance log (also referred to as the wrapper log or standard out log) and binary logs or system runtime logs.  The system and binary logs are managed by internal product processes.  The InfoManager system logs are located at <IM and IC install>/InfoManager/logs and the Search binary logs information can be referenced in this KM - Where are the Search log files located? (Doc ID 1363081.1)
