Collections Center Drops Characters From Account Notes When Writing (Doc ID 1537110.1)

Last updated on MARCH 22, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version 7.4.0.1.0 to 7.4.0.1.0 [Release 7.4.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Collections Center drop characters from the existing account notes while writing to the database.

Scenario:
1. Open Collections Center. Pick an account, write a note on it.
2. Bring up the account in Customer Center, add several notes.
3. Come back to Collections Center, write a new note.
4. Refresh Customer Center, re-retrieve the notes.
Copy and paste the notes from Customer Center and Collections Center into two different files, save and compare them.

Observe the dropped characters in Collections Center notes.

These dropped characters can happen at any point in the notes, and it causes custom web services problems when the dropped characters occur in the date field for a note, because the field is no longer recognizable as a date. This causes the web services to throw exceptions and be unable to retrieve those account notes.
