Portal SDK PCM_CONTEXT_OPEN Fails To Time Out (Doc ID 1540833.1)

Symptoms

When calling the Portal SDK macro PCM_CONTEXT_OPEN (in pcm.h) from custom BRM client (NCC 5.0.0.1 BCD), attempting to connect to a bogus IP address, it fails to time out after the expected duration.

For example, in the following flist passed to PCM_CONTEXT_OPEN:

 
There is no BRM machine to connect to, we specify a PIN_FLD_TIMEOUT_IN_MS of 5000, but it fails to time out after the expected 5 seconds.
We are using the Portal SDK (7.5.0_Portal_SDK_solaris_32_opt.bin and 7.5.0_ThirdParty_solaris_32_opt.bin) with patchset 1.
