ECA Corrupts the First ExtensionDigit it Passes to slee_acs (Doc ID 1548819.1)

Last updated on MARCH 27, 2015

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control - Version 3.1.0 to 4.4.1 [Release 3.1.0 to 4.4]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control's (OCNCC) EDR Control Agent (ECA) appears to be corrupting the first extension digit it passes to slee_acs.

The value of the buffer is garbled text or digits and does not correspond to the field that was appearing in the Event Data Record (EDR) that was submitted to ECA.

Example configuration

eserv.config ECA section :
ECA = {
[...]
        PluginSpecificConfig = {
[...]
            idpParameters = [
                "tbcdExtension 6"
                "tbcdExtension 7"
                "tbcdExtension 8"
                "tbcdExtension 9"
            ]
[...]
         }
[...]
}
 acs.conf :
#ECA
 ServiceEntry (ECA,ccsSvcLibrary.so)
 extensionNumber 6 6 inaptbcdstring value                     #ecaScp
 extensionNumber 7 7 inaptbcdstring value                     #ecaScp
 extensionNumber 8 8 inaptbcdstring value                     #ecaScp
 extensionNumber 9 9 inaptbcdstring value                     #ecaScp

 When submitting an EDR such as the following one :

b 9 8 7

One would expect having the "b" in the first extension digit within slee_acs. However, a random value appears in that buffer instead.

For further information about the EDR Control Agent or slee_acs' configuration, please refer to Network Charging and Control's documentation.

Changes

 New implementation or configuration of EDR Control Agent.
