(Doc ID 1550683.1)
Last updated on JANUARY 09, 2023
Applies to:
Oracle Communications Convergence - Version 2.0 and laterOracle Communications Messaging Server - Version 7.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
A mail was received containing an attachment. The name of the attachement was shown as an encoded string.
Eg. ISO-8859-15''äöäö.pdf
It seems there was no decoding done on the file name of the attachment.
The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:
- Create a message in Thunderbird with an attachment having eg. an umlaut in the name
- Send it to a local Messaging user
- Log in to Convergence and open the message
Due to this issue, users cannot save the attached file with its original and intended name.
This can lead to some confusion about which document is being discussed.
