Applies to:

Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version 7.4.0.0.0 to 7.5.0.0.0 [Release 7.4.0 to 7.5.0]
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

With current BRM refund behavior, customers can register a "stolen" credit card and make purchases on the account. Once purchase is successful and complete, they will change payment method to a prepaid card. After a few days, they will request cancellation of product which will issue credit back to customer account.    Subsequent refund will be issued against the current payment method (prepaid card). This is an example of fraud, since the credit should be refunded to the original credit card instead of a new prepaid card or other payment method.

The refund amount could be:
Composed of multi-cycle credit
Composed of multi-charges/adjustments
Composed of multi-original payment method
