Undefined Payment Type In Customer Center - Payment Tab

In Customer Center Payment Tab, there is an Option called "Undefined" Payment Method, this translates to 0 in DB (PIN_PAY_TYPE_UNDEFINED = 0). We do not want to use this option, and would like to disable the option. Please let us know how to remove the option from Dropdown.
In the meantime, we have customized PCM_OP_CUST_POL_VALID_BILLINFO to error out on 'Undefined' Payment type selection. But the error message we want "Payment Method cannot be Undefined" is not displayed in Customer Center, we only get an generic error message "Unable to update payment setup information".
