Messaging Server Configure Command Changes Mailhost Attribute Of Admin Account

(Doc ID 1562268.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 31, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Messaging Server - Version 5.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

We noticed that there is a persistence of defunct / zombie processes left by ims_master from the job_controller process, and presuming they were being reaped correctly (about every 10 seconds), the rotating PID's suggest that they are occurring frequently - despite trying to run 'preap <pid>' on those processes.

Note: A "defunct" process is not a process that exists. So you cannot address it with a signal, which is what "kill" does, so a kill -9 will not work on a defunct process.
