Oracle Life Sciences Data Hub Performance Issue After Increasing 'FND: View Object Max Fetch Size' Profile Value
Last updated on OCTOBER 14, 2014
Applies to:Oracle Life Sciences Data Hub - Version 2.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
On LSH Version 2202 the following occurs:
User had to increase the value for the profile 'FND: View Object Max Fetch Size', as the number of domains/objects kept increasing for that environment.
It was set to a value of 2000, so that the users can see all the domains/objects in the environment, for the operations like, Creating a Table Descriptor from Table Instance screen, Creating Table Instance from Table Descriptor screen, Definition Search Screen etc.
Since it is set to a high value of 2000, users are encountering performance issues while doing following operations:
a) Creating Table Instances from Table Descriptor Screen
b) Creating Table Descriptor from Table Instance Screen
c) Search for a definition to create an instance based on that
i.e. All Search Screen related operations
Basically, it appears that there is a performance issue in 'Search' screen, when this profile option is set to a high value.
Because of this, users have to spend more time in doing some common operations like Creating Table Descriptor from Table Instance, Creating Table Instance from Table Descriptor, Searching for a definition to create an instance based on that.
Basically, users have to spend more time in all the operations related to 'Search' screen and this needs to be avoided.
