Messaging Server Not Sending Nested Search Request To ISS (Doc ID 1566237.1)

Last updated on MARCH 12, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Messaging Server - Version 7.0.0 and later
Oracle Communications Indexing and Search Service - Version 1.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When using mixed, nested parenthesized search terms that include body search, the request is not being sent to ISS.  When doing a regular body search e.g. search body <insert text here>, this method always works. It is when the combination of parenthesized nested search terms are combined, that we see this issue.

For example:

Monitor the /san/jiss/logs/iss-searchsvc.log.0 and /opt/SUNWappserver/domains/domain1/logs/access/server_access_log to see that the search attempt does not get logged; the search is not being sent to ISS/Glassfish.

The option available in MS 7u4 point patch 4 for Enhancement Request 16609864 (service.imap.indexer.bodytextonly) is enabled in lab, but, this search issue exists whether this option is enabled or not.
