How do you make a task in a batch fail based on data returned in a column?

You are currently attempting to design a requirement where a task fails based on the output of one procedure.

For example: There are three tasks in the batch. Task 1 is a SQL rule procedure. This will check a column data in a table and based on the data either “S” or “F”. The task should perform (by default the task will start the procedure and will show success).  But, if the column data is "F" then the task should return failed so that the tasks 2 and 3 are not run.  How can you trigger the first task to fail appropriately based on the data in a column?
