Billing Performance Affected By Slow SQL Query To Fetch Open Items Of Child Accounts (Doc ID 1568916.1)

To address certain performance problems observed during billing, the following suggestions were applied in a billing scenario :

1) changed the "accounting type" from "balance forward" to "open item"
2) installed the Patch 14403681 to stop scanning for open items for Open item accounting.

The above solution is working fine with Child account billing, but for Parent accounts, billing performance is still heavily impacted by a query executing a look up over all children's open items.
