imapd or popd Dumps Core During or Soon After rehostuser

Symptoms
imapd or popd processes dump core, causing watcher to request the store be restarted (if autorestart is enabled) during or soon after running rehostuser.
The stack of the core dump will show a heap corruption type problem - a SEGV or BUS error in a memory allocation routine like malloc() or free().
Changes
Users are being moved between systems using the rehostuser command. It could also happen if imsconnutil -k is used to disconnection users.
