Shared Calendar Access Using Apple iCal Requires "manage" Permission

(Doc ID 1577669.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 14, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Calendar Server - Version 7.1 and later
Oracle Communications Convergence - Version 2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

It is not possible to set Read-Only access controls in Convergence, when two users with calendars on Oracle Communications Calendar Server 7 want to share calendars.

This issue was reproduced using the following steps:

** Under Convergence with users "test1" and "test2":

   -  test1 - share calendar with read-only access for test2
   -  test2 - subscribe to test1 calendar

** Under iCal with user "test2":

   - create a default calendar for test2
   - create a secondary calendar for test2 with test2 details, but, with using the test1 calendar path - /davserver/dav/principals/test1@domain.com

Result:  You will see that instead of creating the test1 calendar, it has created another test2 calendar, which is only a duplicate calendar of test2.

The same issue will happen with any permissions such as Read+Write and Owner.  But, if the privacy setting is set to "manage", the issue does not occur.  For example:

** Under Convergence with users "test1" and "test2":

   - test1- share calendar with test2 with read-only and privacy settings to "manage"
   - test2 - subscribe to test1 calendar

** Under iCal with user "test2":

   - create a default calendar for test2
   - create a secondary calendar for test2 with test2 details, but with using the test1 calendar path - /davserver/dav/principals/test1@domain.com

Result:  The test1 calendar is created.
