How To Redirect Root Mail on Messaging Server MTA
(Doc ID 1578796.1)

Applies to:
Oracle Communications Messaging Server - Version 7.0.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
We are trying to find the best approach for managing mail from root for all our servers.
Each server has its sendmail /etc/mail/submit.cf configured to use an abc.com relay (our domain is xyz.com). The abc.com relay naturally sends it back to us via a set of dedicated relays that is used for marketing to hosted subdomain users. Since root for each server does not have an LDAP record nor do we wish to create one, is there a way to create a rewrite rule so that all mail to root@*.xyz.com will get redirected to a local administrative host?
