Instant Messaging 8, on Solaris 10 Sparc.
Summary of architecture
Two servers (host1 & host2) running IM 8 with Aug. 27th hotfix in a 2-node server pooled configuration on same subnet with load balancer in the front.
During load testing with 3rd party tool (AppPerfect) generating a total of 20K number of connections, load balanced between the two IM servers, there is a delay in messages being seen/sent in a chatroom for some users.
Steps to Reproduce:
Example of 4 users (user1, user2, user3, user4) - have user1, user2 on host1 & user3, user4 on host2
1. Chatroom is created and all four users join in
2. Generate load to total of ~20K connections, specifically on host1 average ~15K connections and on host2 average ~5K connections
3. Noticing the following:
user1, user2 are able to chat with each other in the chatroom on host1
user1, user2 's messages are not seen in the chatroom for user3, user4 on host2
user3, user4's messages can be seen in the chatroom for user1, user2 on host1
user3, user4 are able to chat with each other in the chatroom on host2
NOTE: There is an approx. ~20 minute delay between messages sent/received for the users on host2 to the chatroom from the users on host1. They do eventually receive those messages after approx. ~20 minutes later.
