When Using Two Separate Browsers Page Loads Fail and Log Shows atg.repository.ConcurrentUpdateException (Doc ID 1592983.1)

Symptoms

When accessing the same shopping cart from multiple browsers the pages fail to load and there are atg.repository.ConcurrentUpdateExceptions in the log.

The browser may be on different devices, such as a mobile device and a desktop, or on the same device such as Firefox and Internet Explorer on a desktop.

Here are some scenarios where this was observed for examples, though many other scenarios are possible:

One Variation:
1. Sign in to MOBILE website, add items to cart in MOBILE website
2. Sign in to Desktop website and load cart
3. Remove item from cart on MOBILE
4. Reload cart on desktop – page will be blank

Another Variation:
1. Sign in to MOBILE website, add items to a cart in MOBILE website
2. Sign in to Desktop website, add an item to cart but don’t view cart
3. In the MOBILE website, refresh the page - the page will fail to load with an {"atgResponse": null} error
