What Is The Proper Way To Start Messaging Server Under SMF ? (Doc ID 1596272.1)

Last updated on JUNE 14, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Messaging Server - Version 7.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

What is the proper way to have SMF manage Messaging Server?

Using Service Management Framework (SMF) with Messaging Server explains that you should use svccfg to import the example messaging.xml file, which points to a script called msgexe to use for the start, stop, and refresh methods. Why not point SMF at the start-msg, stop-msg, and refresh scripts directly instead of the msgexe wrapper?
