Purpose
The Oracle Communications Order and Service Management Installation Guide states the following with respect to configuring the Weblogic Domain for an OSM Cluster in step 24:
"In the Cluster messaging mode list, select unicast. Leave the Multicast address and Multicast port field blank."
However, for performance reasons, customers may decide that they wish to use Multicast to increase the performance of the cluster. This note will provide more information on how Multicast configurations can be achieved.
Scope
This applies to OSM 7.2 version and requires testing in a non-production environment first. For information on OSM 7.3.0 and higher, please see the OSM documentation, this information is covered there. This is applicable to OSM 7.3.0 and higher as well, but the information is included in the documentation.
