Export and import OSM model data from a large database schema - OSM model data only (Doc ID 1601055.1)

Last updated on MARCH 31, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Order and Service Management - Version 7.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

This document outlines how to replicate an OSM schema with the model from a large schema. Exporting a large schema, with hundreds of thousands or millions of orders, can be impractical because of its size, the time it takes, and resources it requires to export. A more feasible solution is to selectively export the model and a specific order, or a range of orders, separately.

Note: The steps and procedures outlined in this KM Note are for import/export purposes only.  They are not to be used for other activities like system back up and restore.  For example executing the om_exp_imp_util_pkg.purge_model procedure without a model export to restore the data will result in a non functioning OSM schema. For more information on how to back up and restore see the "Order and Service Management System Administrator's Guide".
